Munich in Pictures

Hallo!

** I warn you right now this is a very picture heavy post, I may have gotten a tad overexcited!**

In my time off between shows I have been lucky enough to be able to visit the beautiful city of Munich and I really do think it's one of the loveliest places that I have ever visited! I hope you enjoy this little snippet of Munich in pictures...

The things that first catches your eye when you arrive in the city centre of Munich is definitely the architecture. It is stunning, a really gorgeous mixture of lots of different styles, very dramatic and gothic.

Gothic Castle! Yes please :)

Seriously, how beautiful? It even has red flowers!

I love a bit of gold on a statue :)

Whilst we're on the topic of buildings, I wanted to share these particular ones with you. As I wondered the streets taking photographs I started thinking how gorgeous some of the different colour schemes were and how lots of them would make perfect outfits. Just look at the three below:

Buttercup yellow and cream; pink, grey and white; mint green and white
Don't those colours make you think of pretty summer dresses? I may be using some of these colour schemes in upcoming projects, that's just the way my mind has been working since I've been away. I'm chomping at the bit to get home and make some things!

I also spotted this gem on my wanderings: a plaid house! How sweet is it?? I've never seen anything like it before :)

Sweet plaid house

Another fascinating find on my adventures was a shop that sold handmade traditional dirndl type dresses. The craftsmanship was utterly stunning, every piece made is unique and made specifically to the customers preferences. Aren't these pieces beautiful? I really like the black gingham look :)

And of course I wouldn't be me unless I went on the search for something sweet, and I think I hit the jackpot with this shop! The things on sale were almost too beautiful to eat!

Marzipan roses, lady birds and fruit

Pretty cookies and truffles

Meringues!

Look! A sundae with a meringue swan!!

I spent a lot of time in the English Gardens in Munich, which are absolutely stunning, helped perhaps by the gorgeous weather :) I felt like I was in a dream, everything looked so perfect!

Green copper roofs make me happy

I <3 my new shoes!
Although this shows my need for more pretty socks!

This picture looks like A Midsummer Night's Dream...

Munich = Happy Days :)

Dress: Vintage Revamped, by me!
Jacket: Vintage (I think Rokit in Brick Lane)

I do love the colours of German Baroque architecture. I found myself avidly taking pictures of Dresden's buildings in a similar way to you when I was there last year. I couldn't capture them all in one shot though, which is what I find really beautiful - all the buildings of different, bright colours all lined up next to each other...
