Shoe Porn: Miss L Fire

Ok, so if you thought my last post on shoes was good just wait to see what Miss L Fire has got up their sleeves...!

I have been a big fan of Miss L Fire's fabulous footwear for quite some time, the blogosphere always seems to be stuffed with gorgeous strappy sandals and summery shoes, absolutely stunning but never quite enough to tempt me to buy them. However, when I took a look at their new Autumn/Winter collection my heart skipped a beat. These shoes are just something else, take a look...

First up are these gorgeous 1930s inspired lace ups:

Boardwalk

These shoes are very aptly named "Boardwalk", don't they look like someone has just worn them off the set of Boardwalk Empire? I love the two tone colouring and the chunky heel, a nice sturdy winter shoe whilst still being ridiculously chic. I love a proper vintage inspired shoe don't you? :)

Black and white not really your thing? Fancy a bit more colour in your life? Then feast your eyes on my next offering...

Edith

Le swoon! Le sigh! These look like a beautiful slice of cake to me! These are the type of shoes that Marie Antoinette would wear if she was around today, the more I look at them the more I want them :) Plus if hot pink isn't for you they also come in brown and blue (another thing I love about Miss L Fire, the variety of colours they provide with each of their designs).

Looking for something simple and classy? Well they have that too!

Tartaruga

These would go with every winter outfit, don't you think? They are pretty much the perfect day-to-night 1940s inspired heel. And they come in loads of lovely colours too. AND they have leopard print heels, so what's not to love?!

And how about more of a fancy shoe for a fancier occasion? Look no further than these next two pairs of fabulousness. I'd be happy to have either of them hanging out at the ends of my legs!

Goddess

Clara

Beautiful or what? Both Goddess and Clara look as if they have been created specifically for dancing the night away - swing dancing of course ;) They are both so beautiful and unique looking, and I'd think they work both with vintage look outfits and with a more modern twist. I love the peach colour of the Goddess shoe together with the wing detail, how ridiculously pretty are they? And I love the textures of Clara (great to get the crocodilian look without harming a single croc, love the mock-croc!) and this is another shoe that comes in a beautiful array of colours - hurrah! Basically what's not to love? I'll take them both please :)

But, my lovely readers, I really am saving the best until last. You may remember that I was a little saddened about always wearing boring boots or wellies during the winter months. Well I think I may have found the answer. Check these boots out for size...

Nancy (in Brown)

There aren't really words to describe how perfect these boots are in my eyes. I've simply fallen head over heels in love. As someone who has always adored period dramas filled with button up boots these lovelies are the answer to my wildest dreams! I mean, look at them! Pearly buttons, double texture suede and leather, nice chunky heel, scallop edged detail, what's not to like, or love?? The brown version above are my favourite, but I could really see myself with one of every colour...

Nancy (in Black)

Nancy (in White and Black)

Nancy (in Beige)

Come on, I can't be the only one who's obsessed with these can I? Tell me I'm not alone here! They're just so yummy...

Basically, lovely readers, get over to the Miss L Fire website and have a good old browse of all their fabulous footwear, you will not be disappointed. I shouldn't be surprised if my bank account gets a good old bashing soon, can you really blame me? :)

Until next time my journey for perfect shoes continues, bye for now!

Shoe Porn: Hobbs

When summer ends and the cool/wet weather starts to set in i always find myself struggling with my footwear. I spend my summers in flats and sandals, all very pretty but quite insubstantial, so as soon as the rain starts i find myself at a loss at what to wear on my feet. I usually end up in clumpy flat boots or wellies, which I find a bit sad. Don't get me wrong, I love my faithful boots and wellies but it would be nice to be able to wear something with a touch more glamour. Because I have been searching far and while for autumn/winter footwear and I thought I'd share my favourite finds with you all :)

First up on my search for shoes is a selection from Hobbs:

NW3 Admirals Bow Contrast Courts

I really love these court shoes, the heel is nice and fat so these could be worn comfortably for daywear (well maybe not everyday but still!) plus I think the navy blue colour is beautiful. I think they are perfect if you're interested in trying to achieve a 1940s look as they're heavily vintage inspired (as is the case with a great deal of Hobbs products). And they're nice and shiny and there's still a little bit of a child in me who gets a thrill from shiny new shoes :) Here's a more detailed look at the bow:

My next favourite from Hobbs are these gorgeous leopard print court shoes:

Blaise Platform Courts

I've been hankering after a pair of leopard print heels for such a long time and these are just stunning. I think they'd probably be a bit high for me for really frequent use (my feet wouldn't forgive me!) but they look study enough to clump about in during the day as well as on an evening out. I really do love everything about them, especially their texture. Plus I'm a firm believer that leopard print goes with everything so I should be able to wear these all the time :) Here's a little close up for your viewing pleasure:

And finally I think these little shoe-boots are sweet:

Morella Cross Bar Court

Once again they are very vintage influenced (and as I will never be able to get actual vintage shoes in my size these kind of discoveries are always worth having!) and they have a nice study low heels which would be perfect for daywear in the winter whilst still looking chic :) I think that the buckle detail really makes this design, it's so pretty and softens the look a great deal. Basically I like them! Here's a close up of that lovely buckle:

If I could I would buy a pair of every one of these shoes, unfortunately at about £150 per pair that won't be happening anytime soon, but it's nice to dream isn't it? :) I'm not totally averse to spending a lot of money of shoes, but in order for me to hand over my hard earned cash the shoes in question must be perfect, so the shoe search continues!

Join me again soon for some more gorgeous footwear and more Birthday themed posts.

Bye for now!

If the shoe fits... even though it usually doesn't!

Unfortunately for me I will never be the slender footed Cinderella who seems to fit every shoe! This fact was made sadly evident to me at the Clerkenwell Vintage Fashion Fair on Sunday, when I was left drooling over several beautiful pairs of shoes but could only dream of having them grace the ends of my legs. I have always loved a pretty pair of heels and there is something about vintage shoes that is just so feminine and graceful, something I find a bit lacking in modern footwear, that calls out to my soul. How very dramatic :) So even though I cannot wear them myself I thought I'd share some of my favourite online shoe finds at the moment. If you're lucky enough to have the kind of feet that would fit these beauties then I do wish you well, even if I may be turning a little green with envy... :)

Perfect peep toes, I love the lacy fabric and the velvet bows!
Similar to the style above but this time a peep toed boot!
More peep toes - I know what I like! - this time with gorgeous scarlet lacing
Talking of scarlet, how about some heels in my favourite colour? :)
The lace ups are incredible, I think I would wear them to death in the winter...
... or alternate with these brown beauties!
The buckles on these are just too sweet
I would love any of these shoes, wouldn't they go perfectly with my coat?
When it comes to shoes I know that I'm very lucky to live in the present day as apposed to one of my favourite vintage eras, because although the shoes were beautiful then my feet would still not be able to fit them, a fact I know I share with many modern girls, even the most glamourous, like "Diary of a Vintage Girl"s Fleur. In the 40s I would probably have ended up wearing mens shoes (gasp!) or maybe even crippling myself by forcing my feet into the teeny tiny shoes of prettiness. Is it wrong that in that situation I feel I might lean towards the latter solution...? :) And of course I am even more blessed to live in a world where many companies now make reproduction vintage shoes that can even accomodate my gargantuan hoofs (I'm kidding! They're not that big really, just by vintage standards!). Just take a look at these pretty examples from ModCloth:

Peep toe! A lovely day shoe

A shoe with the cut out style I like and sweet little bows!

Another pretty peep toe - am I getting predictable?
So there you have it, there's a vintage shoe out there for everyone, even if it's not strictly vintage! And I like to think there can never be too many pairs of shoes in a girl's life, so go on, go forth and collect shoe babies! And please don't find it too strange that I call them shoe babies...!

Bye for now :)
