It was only a matter of time really, after the long hours I spent drooling over other people's collections. Just a matter of time before I too was hit by the bug and fell, and fell hard. I'm pretty sure this is the start of an addiction, but I'm too distracted by pretty things to care. Ooo look at the pretties...

That's right readers, I have started collecting pyrex! Unfortunately me for me my collection is no where near the standards of the above images, but there's still time yet :) I have started small, with only a few pieces of pyrex to my name but I'm already head over heels in love!
First up is this snowflake space saver casserole dish, circa 1957. Isn't she a beauty?
My second new baby is this gorgeous Blue Gooseberry Cinderella Mixing Bowl. I cannot wait to use this when I'm baking, it's just too pretty to be true!
And last, but by no means least, is this set of pastel ramekins. I'm not really sure what to cook in ramekins other than creme brûlée or melting chocolate puddings, but I just couldn't resist them in all their pastel glory!
And just like that a new obsession is born! I cannot wait to have a kitchen full of pyrex, how much of a desperate housewife do I sound?! But seriously, if anyone knows of a good seller of vintage pyrex in the UK I would be forever grateful!
What are your thoughts on vintage pyrex? Do you have a collection too? Perhaps I can persuade you to start one of your own... :)

I totally understand!! I keep my collection fairly limited to turquoise, but that set of ramekins is INSANE! Congrats on that score!
Love love love it! I have both the snowflake baking dish and 2 Gooseberry Cinderella bowls, though pink. If I had the space for it, I'd totally have a wall of gorgeous Pyrex! But alas most of it is relegated to the cupboards. ;) Have fun, it's an addicting thing to collect!!
I just started a year ago. I love it only wish it were a bit cheaper. I was sort of surprised at how expensive it was already. Love yours!
I love your new collection! Looking forward to seeing it 'grow'. Sam xox
An idea for the ramekins is to make individual jell-os, puddings in them. :) Makes it a lot easier to eat than using one large bowl and scooping from there. They're also good for prep work when you cook.
I have a smallish collection of vintage Pyrex that I use constantly- mostly because I do not store or heat food in plastic. I use the ramekins a lot for sauces, condiments, and snacks- a bit of peanut butter and a handful of pretzels in a ramekin so I won't eat half the bag! :) Nice finds!
what a mad little collection you have there:P x
Your collection is off to a beautiful start! The ramekins would be good for dips/condiments, especially when you have guests. My mom has a full set of mixing bowls (I'm assuming from the late 1970s-early 1980s when my parents got married), in a standard beige with blue flowery scrolls, that I absolutely LOVE to bake with. The handles on the sides are so, um, handy. They make good pouring spouts for batters. :)
Wow! I love it! I think I need to start racing you to the pyrex :)
By the way, I fixed my link! http://www.etsy.com/shop/KissMeKateVintage
