I look forward to seeing what you come up with!!!Wendy Bayfordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07221194102782712793noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-156414460800826239.post-71299323915426608872011-06-27T22:41:57.711+01:002011-06-27T22:41:57.711+01:00Hi Lieke, I'm so glad I'm not the only one...Hi Lieke, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who obsesses over this sweater! I'm actually looking at ways to make my own pattern for this sweater now, I've spoken to a couple of people and it looks fairly simple on paper, whether or not it would work in practice is another thing! I'll be sure to post on my blog when I make some headway so be sure to check back :) Thanks for your comment and hopefully we'll both end up with a version of this gorgeous sweater some day :)Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10143139544737113289noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-156414460800826239.post-52820115354489120752011-06-25T16:41:15.498+01:002011-06-25T16:41:15.498+01:00Oh, I can't stop thinking about this sweater e...Oh, I can't stop thinking about this sweater either! A friend of mine gave me the link to your blog post and I am so glad of the options here! I think the feather stitch sweater is a good option. The yoke though...
I was thinking of modifying Audrey in Unst as a pullover with keyhole in the back and something like that feather stitch, but it's a lot of modifying...
I'll keep an eye on your quest for the perfect pattern!Liekehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05548843935013949453noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-156414460800826239.post-1306308679190135932011-06-15T13:27:33.665+01:002011-06-15T13:27:33.665+01:00Tasha - you truly are my knitting guru, I was just...Tasha - you truly are my knitting guru, I was just thinking about doing a sort of copy of the sweater using a close-enough pattern, and you smash those ideas by thinking of an actual replica of my own making! You're awesome, you rock my world. I'm off to make a thread right now, you have inspired me! Thanks for broadening my horizons, I love a challenge :)Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10143139544737113289noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-156414460800826239.post-87403060057169314692011-06-13T18:05:25.192+01:002011-06-13T18:05:25.192+01:00Gosh, I wish I could see the front up close more! ...Gosh, I wish I could see the front up close more! The back keyhole would be easy, and the colors would be easy as the stripes aren't too wide so you could just carry the unused color along the back, alternating color per stripe.

It looks like the stitch pattern on the yoke changes probably right after the armhole bind off, when the pink stripes get skinnier. That would be the harder part figuring out. The blue stripes on the yoke almost look like garter stitch, or almost slightly ruched.

You could always start a thread on Ravelry soliciting opinions, lots of people do that for movie/tv knits they see and want to try and recreate! :)Tashahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11368418516615371972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-156414460800826239.post-43175791762149041762011-06-12T13:04:03.811+01:002011-06-12T13:04:03.811+01:00Emily & Gracie - I totally agree, as a rule 30...Emily & Gracie - I totally agree, as a rule 30s/40s knitwear is just stunning, that's probably why I spend so much of my time trying to recreate it!

LandGirl1980 - I'm still swooning now!

Lakota - With knitting I find practice makes perfect, I cant even remember the amount of uglies I produced that I never even wore! Sadly my knitting abilities begin and end with scarves (and a pair of very dubious legwarmers) but I do have much love for old sewing and knitting patterns - so appealing. I have some delightful 70s and 80s ones which I also keep for the horrific pictures ;-)

I will keep my eye open for you on my many charity shop jauntsLakota [Faith Hope and Charity Shopping]https://www.blogger.com/profile/04247624645636227130noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-156414460800826239.post-34805449944224882962011-06-11T21:36:12.959+01:002011-06-11T21:36:12.959+01:00Swoon-tastic!!! :)Swoon-tastic!!! :)LandGirl1980https://www.blogger.com/profile/09549128222449333173noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-156414460800826239.post-10258159670939621152011-06-11T18:48:57.221+01:002011-06-11T18:48:57.221+01:00Le swoon indeed!
